Superfund documents put in central location
ANACONDA — People wanting to access Superfund related documents can now find them in one central location.
Anaconda-Deer Lodge County and the Arrowhead Foundation have combined their Superfund documents into one library, which is on the third floor of the Anaconda Local Development Corp. building on Seventh Street.
People can also access some documents online at www.library.anacondasuperfund.com, said Dan Villa, of Arrowhead.
"We're currently making them available online," he said. "Hopefully by the end of this process everyone will be able to access them online in a digital format." The library's stock includes documents received from the Environmental Protection Agency, the state Department of Environmental Quality, ARCo and others. Maps are available as well.
People can check out items or review them in the library.
Documents formerly kept at the Hearst Free Library have been moved to the new Superfund library. If people want documents that are not at the new library, help is available in trying to track down the paperwork.
A current agreement between the county and Arrowhead, which is pending County Commission approval, calls for the library to be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and special hours as requested.
