Time Out publication changing
Television guide distributed free at newspaper racks only
You may have noticed today that the Time Out/TV guide is not part of your newspaper.
The Montana Standard is now offering the Time Out/TV guide free at several locations throughout Butte for customer pickup. It will no longer be included in Saturday's newspaper in order to reduce newspaper waste.
"We've found that less than one percent of our 15,500 readership still uses the television grids," said Publisher Janet Taylor. "We decided to reduce the number of guides we print to reduce newspaper costs and waste." Most readers use the digital format that comes with their cable or satellite subscription. Soon, readers will be able to access the guide for all channels in southwest Montana on the Standard's Web site at www.mstandard.com. All you will have to do is punch in your zip codes and a complete set of listings for the week pop up on your computer screen. One can search for a particular program and get exact times that it airs.
Starting this week, Time Out will be a 24-page publication containing two-week's worth of programming guides, instead of the usual one week. It will be available at the Standard newspaper rack sites at these 10 locations in Butte on Saturdays, bi-monthly: Both Safeway stores, IGA, Express Lane Conoco, Thriftway on Continental Drive, Town Pump Magic Diamond on Elizabeth Warren, Town Pump at Montana and Platinum, Town Pump on North Excelsior and RD's stores uptown and downtown.
If you want a Time Out delivered to your home, the Standard will mail a copy every two weeks. Cost is $9.95 per month. If you would like the Time Out mailed to your home, please enclose a check and your mailing address and send it to: The Montana Standard, Time Out subscription P.O. Box 627 Butte, MT, 59703
