n The Wise River Jackpine Savages Snowmobile Club is accepting nominations for inductees into the club's Hall of Fame. Nominations need to be post marked by Oct. 10 and mailed to John Gillespie, Wise River, MT 59762, a press release said. Current and former members of the club are eligible for nomination. The 4th Annual Jackpine Savages Hall of Fame dinner announcing the new inductee will be held on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Wise River Club. Dinner is $16 per person and all snowmobilers in the area are invited, the release said. RSVP for the dinner by Oct. 11 to Marv Johnson, 832-3227.

n Bresnan Comunications, along with Butte radio stations KBOW and KOPR, will again team up to air high school and college football games on cable television. Bresnan will replay weekend games on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. on cable channel 6. Showings will also be on Thursdays and Sundays at 7 p.m. The games are videotaped and use the broadcast from either of the two radio sportscasts for the audio. The broadcast schedule: Oct. 8 — Belgrade at Butte Central. Oct. 15 — Billings Skyview at Butte High. Oct. 22 — Butte Central at Lewistown. Oct. 29 — Rocky Mountain at Montana Tech. Nov. 5 — Butte High at Billings Senior.

n The Butte Amateur Hockey Association has set registration for the coming season. Signups, for boys and girls, will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Butte Community Ice Center. Beginners are welcome, a notice said. Rental gear is available for skaters age 10 and younger. Those 6 and under have two separate seasons from which to choose. Phone 490-2111 for details.

n The Star Lanes High School Bowling League begins Wednesday for the first round and signup. For more information, call Bud Atchison at 494 3898 or Debbie Martinich at 782-2755. Signups are due by 3 p.m.

n First-year lettermen from the 1958 and 1983 Butte High School football seasons will be inducted this year into the Silver B's honorary. Ceremonies will take place on Friday, Oct. 10 when this year's Bulldogs play host to Billings Skyview at Bulldog Memorial Stadium. The doors leading to the East Middle School cafeteria will open at 4:15 p.m. and then the dinner and annual meeting will begin at 5:30. The building's south door is to be used for entrance. The 1958 group will be taken into the Golden Bs for having lettered in football at Butte High 50 years ago. It consists of Jim Bailey, Paul Bolton, Mark Ciabattari, Bob Coppo, Bob Crippen, Nathan Edington, Bob Eva (deceased), Dale Fellows, Jerry Fitzsimmons, Mel Gardner, Tom Hauck, Dave Heston, Peder Hildre, Ron Kuecks, George Markovich, Dave Markwald, Hugh Ouellette, Charlie Palagi, Dick Riley, Harry "H.D." Romero, Jim Sessions, Ron Taylor, Fred Thomas, Jim Townsley, Martin White and Jim Zunich (deceased). The players from 1983 are going into the Silver Bs for their lettering 25 years ago. The inductees are Bob Alley, Dan Antonovich, Roger Blankenship, Joe Campbell, Randy Davis, Mike Delaney, Jay Fagan, John Fisher, Dennis Gransbery, Joe Henricks, Paul King (deceased), Dan Klemp, Mike Kujawa, Steve Lester, Mark Maroney, Marshall Martin, John Marvin, James McDougall, Mark Miller, Jason Mulcahy, Larry Pesanti, Wes Peters, John Russell, Steve Sholey, Kirk Van Alstyne, Dan Weldon and Mark Williams. The meeting and dinner is for inductees and members only and no alcohol or guests will be allowed. The group will then attend the Skyview-Butte High game and inductees and members will be introduced on the field prior to the kickoff. They are reminded to wear their Silver, Golden or Diamond B's Cap and Pin. The cost of the dinner is $12. Annual dues are $5 at the dinner. The reservation deadline is Oct. 9 and can be confirmed by contacting George Paul at 723-4321 (work) or 494-5350 (home), or Dan Peters at 782-5325. Paul is the secretary-treasurer of the Silver B's honorary, and Peters serves as historian. The other officers are Doug Conway, president, and Scott Paffhausen, vice president.

n The University of Montana Alumni Association and the Grizzly Scholarship Association has partnered with The Eastern Washington University Alumni Association for a beer-tasting event before the Griz/Eagles football game. Participants are to taste a variety of beers from Washington and Montana breweries, eat some snacks and be eligible to win prizes. All will receive a beer tasting t-shirt and beer cup. The date for the event is Oct. 10 and is scheduled for 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the Northern Quest Casino, Pend Oreille Pavilion, 100 N. Hayford in Airway Heights, Wash. The cost is $20 per person. n A Diamond Maroons luncheon will be held Oct. 11 for former Butte Central High School female athletes who lettered in any sport more than 10 years ago. The alumni will get an opportunity during the luncheon, set for the Maroon Activities Center, to meet the Lady Maroons prior to their match against Lewistown. The luncheon is a no-host affair and reservations are requested at 723-6706.
