Manhattan Christian downs Butte Central

LIVINGSTON — Butte Central's volleyball team got plenty of playing time Saturday in pool play at the Windy City Classic, but was out after the first round of bracket play.

The Maroons split in pool play, defeating Browning and Bridger, while they fell to Belgrade and Havre. Seeded third going into bracket play, the Maroons fell in two games to Manhattan Christian.

"We didn't make it very far, but there was some decent volleyball played," said Butte Central coach Kaila Minehan. "We showed a lot of fight, but we need to minimize our errors." Minehan lauded the play of Saidee Johnston, who tallied 23 digs in four games of pool play.

"That's really impressive," Minehan said. "She was just on, and we're very pleased with her performance this weekend." See CENTRAL, Page B5 The Maroons are back in action next Saturday when they host Belgrade in a 4 p.m. match at the MAC.
