SALVAGE SALE
The salvage garage sale will be held at the Grand Hotel, 124 W. Broadway St., alley entrance on south side, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Available
materials for sale include vintage doors, windows, plumbing fixtures, beadboard, diverse molding and wood of many types. It’s sponsored by the Butte Citizens for Preservation and Revitalization, a non-profit group that works toward protecting Butte’s architectural heritage.
BAT TOUR
Lewis and Clark Caverns will have a second bat tour at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The tour will start with a slideshow at the visitor center and then enter the upper part of the cave to view the bat habitat. The tour is $10 for adults; $5 per child. Reservations are required and may be made by calling 287-3541.
CAR WASH
The Butte High School cheerleaders will hold a car wash from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Civic Center. Proceeds from summer fundraisers such as this will go toward the group’s expenses for the 2008-09 school year.
OPPOR DAY
The third “Oppor Day” and fun run will be Saturday at the Opportunity Community Club. The fun run is for vehicles and bikes, or “anything that moves,” said spokesman George Niland. Cost is
$10 per hand, with some
proceeds going to the Opportunity Citizens’ Protection Association environmental programs. The registration fee includes a meal and first beverage. Food and beverages are served starting at noon at Opportunity Park. The picnic starts at 4:30 p.m. at the club. Free activities for kids run all day.
FUN RUN
St. James Healthcare Foundation’s annual Ticker Tuner Fun Run starts with registration from 7 to
8 a.m. at Chester Steele Park. The 5-K race starts at 8:30 a.m., and the mile fun run at 9 a.m. Cost is $18. Proceeds go to the hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation department.
FARMERS’ MARKETS

IN CONCERT
The country music band Whiskey Falls plays at the Butte Depot,
818 S. Arizona St., at 8 p.m. Saturday, on the outdoor stage. Nashville songwriter Steve Richards opens for the band. Tickets to Saturday’s show are $10 each — or $5 if you bring a non-perishable food item for the Butte Emergency Food Bank.
The Tumbleweed Trio performs at 7 p.m. at Bannack State Park,
featuring old cowboy and western songs. The park is located west of Dillon. For details, call 834-3413.

Philipsburg
