Drivers get seventh DUIs
Two drivers were arrested in Butte over the weekend in connection with their seventh drunken driving charges.
Shane J. Albracht, 33, 1409 B St., Walkerville, was arrested Friday evening while riding an all-terrain vehicle on Ryan Road, according to the police report. Police allege Albracht was intoxicated and driving recklessly about 9 p.m.
Albracht had six prior driving under the influence charges on his record, police said. His driving privileges were revoked out of Colorado due to prior drunken driving convictions, police said.
Billy J. Strong, 23, faces a possible seventh driving under the influence charge after police arrested him early Saturday morning. A police patrol allegedly found Strong sitting in his car parked at Kennedy and Holmes avenues with the engine running about 4:10 a.m. Police allege Strong was intoxicated and took him to jail.
Strong and Albracht refused to take breathalyzer tests.
Both men were in jail Monday morning.
Four or more driving under the influence convictions is a felony in Montana. A felony DUI charges carries a maximum penalty of 13 months incarceration and 5 years probation and more than a $1,000 fine.
