Former astronaut returning to Twin Bridges fly-in

TWIN BRIDGES — Former astronaut Frank Borman returns to the fifth Twin Bridges Father’s Day Fly-In June 14-15 at the town’s airport.
Borman, who was the commander of Apollo 8 and led the first team of American astronauts to circle the moon, will be available all weekend to socialize, answer questions and sign autographs. He has participated in previous Twin Bridges fly-ins.
Fly-in events include:
NASA aerospace educational specialists will make presentations Saturday. People can stop by the booth for times to make and launch your own rocket.
Skydive Lost Prairie will take people skydiving both Saturday and Sunday. To preregister, call Kendra at Ruby Valley Aviation, 684-5335.
Registration for EAA Young Eagle flights starts at 8 a.m. Saturday. Pilots donate their time and airplanes to give interested people, ages 8-17, an opportunity to experience general aviation flight, free.
Saturday at 5 p.m., potluck pig roast.
Sunday at 10 a.m., airplane bowling and flour bombing are planned.
Sunday morning, Rotary-Legion pancake breakfast Camping is available, call Kendra at 684-5335.
The fly-in is sponsored by Ruby Valley Aviation, Greater Ruby Valley Chamber of Commerce and Madison County.
Library plans garage sale TWIN BRIDGES — The eight Garage-A-Rama runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the fairgrounds in Twin Bridges. Proceeds go to the Twin Bridges Library.
The sale is held in conjunction with the annual Fathers’ Day Fly-in at the airport; complimentary shuttles from the airport to town are planned.
