Line-dancing

classes offered

Fine Line Dance Co. offers beginning co-ed line-dancing classes Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Knights of Columbus Hall, Park and Idaho.

It offers regular line-dancing classes starting Wednesday, Jan. 16, from

6 to 7 p.m. in the KC Hall. Intermediate and performance group students’

classes follow 7:15 to

8:30 p.m.

Cost is $4 a class. Call 723-7294 for details.

Forest Service

seeks workers

DILLON — People

interested in temporary jobs for the summer with the Forest Service, must now apply online and soon, Beaverhead-Deerlodge National

The Forest Service hires people to work in recreation, fire fighting, range, wildlife biology, hydrology and other specialties.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, 18 years or older, and may have to pass a physical-fitness test.

Most jobs are filled by late spring or early summer. Some hiring is expected to start in February.

Homebuyers

class offered

Headwaters RC&D and The National Affordable Housing Network are

holding a Homebuyer’s Education Class on Jan. 30 and 31 at the Business Development Center,

305 W. Mercury, from 5 to

9 p.m. The cost of the class is $10 per person and $15 per couple.

Participants will learn about special affordable home financing options including down payment and closing cost assistance

programs for eligible first-time homebuyers. The two-night class presents information on budgeting and credit, the mortgage process, homeowners insurance and other aspects of homeownership.

Participants will need to make their own childcare arrangements. For more information or to register contact Sandy Conway at Headwaters RC&D at

Jan. 25.

The following animals were recently picked up by Butte Animal Control. If you think one of them is yours, call the Chelsea Bailey Animal Shelter, 699 Centennial, at 782-8450 or stop by 1 to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

Dogs

  • On Jan. 10 in the

    400 block of Clinton, a

    2-year-old neutered short hair Lab cross, chocolate and white was picked up.

  • Also on Jan. 10 in the 2500 block of Yale, officers picked up a pit bull Lab cross. She is 8 to 10 years old, spayed and is a brindle with a gray muzzle.
