Deer Lodge offers adult education classes
DEER LODGE — To sweep away the winter doldrums, people are invited to take an adult education class offered by Kohrs Memorial Library in Deer Lodge.
Class sizes are limited. All classes will be held at the Kohrs Library meeting room in the basement unless otherwise specified.
The winter session features:
Wine appreciation. Terry Scott, instructor. Friday, Feb. 9, 7:30 to 9 p.m.; $15. Class will include sampling of four white and four red Italian wines. Pre-registration required; 10 minimum/20 maximum.
Stained-glass Sun Catchers. Sheri Burden, instructor. Five hours, Saturday, Feb. 10, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $15 plus cost of supplies. Create one or more sun catchers from patterns provided. Safety glasses are required.
The Art of Meditation. Linda Eisenbeil, instructor. Four hours, Thursdays beginning Feb. 15, 7 to 8 p.m.; $12. Bring a pillow to sit on, a notebook, pen and a bottle of water.
Microsoft Office Publisher. Lee Silliman, instructor; eight hours: Tuesdays beginning Feb. 20, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.; $24. Classes will be in the high school upstairs computer lab.
Terrariums. Denise Heaney, instructor; 12 hours: Tuesdays beginning Feb. 20, 7 to 10 p.m. at the Heaney Studio-Pen Convention Center, 925 Main St. Cost: $36 plus cost of supplies. Easy for beginners.
Pine Needle Baskets. Denise Heaney, instructor; 12 hours: Wednesdays beginning Feb. 21, 7 to 10 p.m. at the Heaney Studio-Pen Convention Center, 925 Main St. Cost is $36 plus cost of supplies. Easy for beginners.
Character and Plot Development. Jason McMackin, instructor; 12 hours: Saturdays, March 3 and 10; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; $36 plus $6 for handouts.
