Fifth-annual Cattlemen’s Day Nov. 4
By the Three Rivers Staff - 10/17/2006
BILLINGS — The Montana Cattlemen’s Association, an affiliate of R-CALF USA, is hosting their Fifth Annual Cattlemen’s Day on Nov. 4 at the Billings Hotel & Convention Center in Billings.
Cattle producers, industry leaders, and governmental officials from across the West will convene to learn about issues, discuss alternatives, and shape the future of Montana’s cattle industry.
The Nov. 4 agenda includes four panel discussions for ranchers.
R-CALF USA President Chuck Kiker, R-CALF USA Vice President Max Thornsberry, and Montana COOL Chairman Dan Teigen will discuss the Farm Bill, Country-of-Origin Labeling, and Animal ID.
R-CALF founder Leo McDonnell, Mike Callicrate and John Munsell will serve on a panel to discuss the Survival of Agriculture.
There will be a Bio Fuels panel including Shirley Ball, Dan Downs and Thad Willis. Mike Volesky, Jeff Hagener and Bill Hedstrom will be on hand to discuss the Bison Plan for Yellowstone Park.
The evening keynote speaker will be Gov. Brian Schweitzer. Cowboy poet Shad Pease will provide the entertainment.
This is an excellent opportunity for Montana’s cattle producers to join the forum and discuss those issues most important to the cattle industry in today’s marketplace.
