Skylights top Western women

HAVRE — The University of Montana-Western women’s basketball team had a cold night from the field and the free-throw line Saturday night.
Montana State-Northern’s DeLayne Johnston didn’t have the same problem.
Johnston poured in 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as the Skylights handed the Bulldogs their second Frontier Conference loss of the season, a 72-56 setback.
Guard Jaci Heny added 21 points for Northern, while Ashley Trulock came off the bench to score 12 points for coach Chris Mouat’s Skylights.
Becky O’Neil scored 21 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Western.
Katherine Sunwall added 10 points and blocked a six shots.
Also, Crystal Kain scored six for Western, and Megan Schmitz and Laura Shea each scored six.

Keaster scored 40 points for Great Falls and the Argos pulled away from a 39-37 halftime lead for their third Frontier Conference victory of the season.
Kyle Cook and Tami Infante each scored 19 points to pace Tech, which fell to 1-8 in conference and 5-19 overall.

Westminster 69, Rocky Mountain 49 SALT LAKE CITY — High-scoring Shalee Fackrell was held to 23 points Saturday night, but she still led Westminster to the win over Rocky Mountain. Fackrell is the leading scorer in NAIA Division I women’s basketball with an average of more than 26 points a game.
The Griffins took a 33-23 halftime lead and then expanded it after intermission. They feasted on the boards as Janae Hirschi’s eight rebounds led a 39-24 advantage on the glass.
